First Victories coming to Gamefound soon

First Victories – Wellington versus Napoleon will be coming to Gamefound on November 15th. The project is currently in preview mode and you won’t be able to pledge until the 15th but the campaign page has a wealth of information about the game.

First Victories features Lt. General Wellesley’s (later Lord Wellington) first victories against Napoleon’s forces in the Peninsula, with the battles of Roliça and Vimeiro. These are lesser known, yet significant, battles that saw the French ejected from Portugal in a short campaign with no great loss of blood. They also aided Lt. General Wellesley and helped develop the tactics that would see him through to Waterloo in Napoleon’s final defeat. Despite the small size of these battles, the situations are interesting and there are a variety of ways for players to approach each battle.

The campaign begins on November 15th but until then you can read through the game rules and read a multi-turn game report that explores how the rules interact. Game developer Terry Doherty has also produced a video tutorial for First Victories.
